Other than LAMP, Initially I use Adobe CS for most of my work. However, when I started using linux, using GIMP and inkscape is sufficient. Other tools that I use or used are

sshfs (Linux/Ubuntu) | SFTP Net Drive (Windows)
Color pic (Windows) Similar to KColorChooser in Linux.

Funduc Search and Replace (Windows) | Regexxer (Linux)
Virtual Box - I use this to run windows OS and other distros.
