I first started with the Raspberry Pi 1 Type B 512MB board and progressed to Raspberry Pi 2 Model B 1gb and Pi 3 Model B 1gb. Now I am using Raspberry Pi 5 16gb which I install Ubuntu while the rest I use Raspberry Pi OS (formerly Raspbian) a linux. I find Raspberry Pi a robust and reliable server than a VM running on Windows with the addded benefit of a GPIO
