MongoDB Atlas Vector DB

Posted under » MongoDB on 15 May 2024

I need to have some vector database functionality but don't want to go into icassandra. It seems MongoDB can become a vector db but the catch is you have to use mongodb atlas, a hosted version of mongodb.

You can try the free version. Login as gmail or GIT, I find using gmail better. You have to create a DB user name and password. For testing, avoid complicated password.

You can either use the website version or log in using mongosh. Please check your version of Mongosh to connect to the API.

$ mongosh "mongodb+srv://anoneh.vtshuvs.mongodb.net/" --apiVersion 1 --username kali
$ mongosh -u exampleuser -p examplepass "mongodb+srv://anoneh.uvcwrm6.mongodb.net"
